Rain Rain Rain

The bees bring in the pollen from the fields
Crowd in the hive, time to lay out at the front door with the sisters and catch the sun, but a new brood box needs to be add for more room.

It's been raining on and off for two weeks, nothing bad about it. We need this rain very badly in california, due to a three year drought that's destroying this agricultural economy. It's also nice to see the rain however, the nice temperature of upper 60's for couple of days, which makes everything come alive and fully awake is better.

Chicks have arrived!

Most of the chicks have the same color at a young age, which makes it hard to identify which breed is what.

The chicks that I ordered in January from Ideal Hatchery, have arrived. All 25 chicks are healthy, the breeds are Rhode Island Reds, Rhode Island whites, New Hampshire reds, Production reds and Delawares. All of these breeds are good egg-layers and good birds for meat production. Thats why most of these are Dual-breed Chickens.
